Hi,

thanks for the release, but I have several problems with this version.
First the upgrade didn't work. After upgrading from beta3 there were only PHP errors with something about calling a member function on a non object. I didn't check it further as my database contains only testdata. So I installed it again from scratch which worked.

After creating courses and lessons I was unable to add any lesson to a course.

The upgrade problem I'm not sure why happened, every upgrade I have made worked ok. However, I'll look into it more.

As for the courses problem, this was related to course's language selection and is fixed. I "silently" uploaded the upgraded beta4 zip. If you want to update your existing installation, you only need to copy the file www/administrator.php into place, and then just edit and save again your courses (so that the correct setting is stored).
By the way, I am very impressed with the community's reflexes on bugs :)

Ok, now it works :)

But there is still this issue here:

And unfortunately this makes the system currently unusable :(

Hello Peter,
I have read very carefully your bug reports but so far I have been unable to reproduce the problem. It would be much help if your provided a step-by-step procedure that produces the problem.
Nevertheless, the user's role in courses/lessons is a bit confusing, and I will make sure it clarifies a bit

Ok, here what I did step by step

  • Install beta4
  • Create admin, prof and student
  • Create category
  • Create course
  • Assign global prof as local prof
  • Create lesson and mark 'Exclusively through course'
  • Assign lesson to course
  • Login as prof and go to 'my Lessons'
  • now there is no possibility to change anythin in this lesson

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed feedback. Yes, we have reproduced and fixed the problem. Please be kind enough to wait until friday, when the final 3.5.0 version will be out.
Generally speaking, the lesson asssignment process could get complicated, when dealing with courses. An explanatory message will be posted shortly in the forum, were all things will get clear enough.
